Doctrine

The Bible
The Bible was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the inerrant Word of God and our supreme standard and final authority on all matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. It is the final authority over all human affairs and the final standard by which all men and women will be judged by God.

God
There is only one God, eternally existing as three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each with distinct personal attributes but sharing in a single divine nature.

Father
God the Father reigns over all of creation exercising His providential care over the same. He leads and guides all of human history in accordance with His perfect and eternal will. He is Father to all who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Son
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He is the Living Word of God sent to die on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father as our Advocate and High Priest.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the fully divine Spirit of God. He exalts Christ, convicts us of sin, of righteousness and judgment.

Man
Mankind was created as male and female in the image of God. Humanity is God’s special creation holding a high position above all living things on the earth. Humanity fell deliberately into sin and is eternally lost and condemned without Christ. It is only by belief in Christ and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit that men and women can be saved, and eternal spiritual life can be obtained.

Salvation
Eternal salvation is the redemption of the whole person through Christ. Salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. It is the free gift of God. It is a gift that is given entirely separated from any good works. Salvation is obtained by all who have faith in and receive Christ as their personal Savior.

Church
The church is not a building, but the church is composed of by all who believe in Christ as Savior. The local church is an autonomous body of believers united in the faith and fellowship of the gospel.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion)
Baptism comes from the Greek word βαπτίζω (baptizō). It is a word that means to “dip in or under water; to immerse.” As such we practice baptism by the total submersion of a believer into water as they identify with Christ in His death and resurrection.

The Lord’s Supper (Communion) is faith observed as a remember of the Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. The bread represents the breaking of His body as He was beaten and nailed to the cross. The wine or juice represents His blood of the new covenant shed for the forgiveness of sins.

These ordinances do not contribute in any way to a person’s salvation, but they are observed as commanded by Scripture.

Final Thoughts
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead at the return of Christ. Those who believe in Christ as Savior will be resurrected to new life. Those who did not believe in Christ will be raised to everlasting conscious punishment and eternal separation from God in hell.
