Bernie Hayes

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Bernie’s journey of faith began at the age of eight, when he was invited to a weekly children’s Bible study hosted by Homer and Irma Mayers. It was through this study that he came to know Christ as his Savior, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to faith and ministry.

Bernie pursued his education at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology – Aviation. After college, he relocated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1978, where he would go on to build a life rooted in service and leadership.

Bernie currently serves as president of Solid Rock Ministries and Solid Rock Productions. His dedication to faith-based advocacy is reflected in his work as board president and continuing board member for Bridgehaven Pregnancy Support Center, as well as his role on the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition board. He is also a financial supporter of Concerned Women for America and Focus on the Family.

As an elder at Noelridge Park Church, Bernie plays a vital role in ministry. He leads the Wednesday night AWANA program and serves on the Noelridge worship team, using his gifts to uplift and disciple others.
